Exhibition: Incubator 2015

Latitude 53 Gallery

June – August 2015

During the summer of 2015, I was selected to participate in Latitude 53’s Incubator series, along with eight other artists. The focus of Incubator was photography, which led me to explore how to incorporate this medium with my digital drawings. Each week over nine weeks a new artist added their work to the gallery. I created a series of drawings and two additional pieces in response to works of other artists. I found photography to be an interesting way of adding meaning to my abstract drawings.  As I I will talk about in an upcoming post – when people look at abstract drawings, they often try to find something identifiable within them.  Photography allowed me the opportunity to add context in a new way to some of my abstract work.
